All businesses are facing increasing demands upon their IT systems caused by an ever increasing amount of data generated within normal business activities. Most recently, email has become one of the greatest challenges, forcing huge increases in storage requirements. New regulatory and legal demands are pushing businesses to retain more data, but more importantly this information has to be searchable in order to answer legal discovery requests and provide litigation support. AIB is one of Ireland s largest financial institutions. In this session, Martin Dunne of AIB will outline how the bank has identified the challenges caused by this increasing data volume, and the steps they have taken to reduce the risks that this brings. ILM affects all parts of the business and managing Lotus Notes mail is integral to this strategy.
