What is it?
The Irish Lotus User Group is now in its fourth year. It was
founded originally by Paul Mooney, who is now joined by a team of people to
make the event grow year on year. Last year’s event was a phenomenal success,
with far too much online visibility to even list here. Please click here to
see some of the online information about last year. http://www.google.ie/search?hl=en&q=Irish+Lotus+User+Group+2007&btnG=Google+Search&meta=
Where have we come from?
Over 270 attendees attended last year’s two-day event, with many
waitlisted. We had internationally renowned speakers turning up in their
droves to present at the event, and have already committed to presenting at
next years event.
What is the plan this year?
On June 4th, in Dublin, we plan to take it further
ILUG2008 (http://www.ilug2008.org)
is booked to take place in the Dublin Conference Centre from June 4th - 6th
2008. http://www.conferencecenter.ie
The capacity for the event is approximately 450 delegates, and
based on last year’s event we anticipate it to be fully booked, with attendance
from some of the key players in the Lotus community, customers, business
partners and key IBM decision makers. All focused on information sharing,
networking and strategy alignment. There is no charge to delegates for
attending this event, as all funding is raised by sponsorship. We consider the
investment in time to be the delegate’s payment. This is a NOT FOR PROFIT
event. All organisers make no money from this event, and even last year
assisted in sponsoring a charity.
So far - who is planning to speak at this event?
Paul Mooney
Bill Buchan
Warren Elsmore
Ed Brill
Alan Lepofsky
Mary Beth Raven
Rocky Oliver
Bob Balaban
Rob Novak
Bruce Elgort
Francie Whitlock
Jamie Magee
Rob McDonagh
Thomas Duff
Julian Robichaux
Why sponsor this event?
This event is (at this stage) one of the most public Lotus events,
next to Lotusphere, with massive Lotus Community interest and awareness
online. The event will also include a keynote speaker from IBM. It has been
and WILL be noticed, as are those involved.
Sponsorship requirements are budgeted to only cover costs, not to
make a profit.

get maximum exposure

effort will be made to ensure that non-competitive sessions run concurrently.
There are openings to sponsor the following:
ˇ
Bar for Speedsponsoring (This is on the first night – repeated 5
minute sessions by all sponsors repeatedly for all delegates. Think speeddating
for advertising!)
ˇ
Bar for speedgeeking (This is on the second night – a very
successful session in Lotusphere and ILUG last year)
ˇ
Possibly reservation of food/drink in popular Dublin bar on the
Thursday night.
ˇ
Possibly breakfast network session on the morning (before Keynote)
There are a total of 15 sponsor slots available (Platinum/Gold).
It is possible to accommodate more sponsors (Silver), but they will not have
booths.
The Booths.
We have arranged for booths for all Platinum and Gold Sponsors.
These will be setup for you evening before the event. Dimensions will be posted soon. This is due to feedback from sponsors that asked for more structure to the sponsor area, and negates the need to ship
stands etc.
The event starts at 11am on June 4th. We suggest that you turn up
the evening before to setup your booth with company related data. Room layout
will be given in advance. Again, we will aim to ensure that sponsor layout is
agreeable to all sponsors.
Speedsponsoring!
We are also introducing "Speedsponsoring" - a take on Speedgeeking
or speed dating. On the evening of June 4th, all delegates will be placed in
the sponsor room, and move from booth to booth every 5 minutes.... giving each
sponsor a 5 minute pitch. It is supposed to be a combination of fun/sales
opportunity.
If you would like to sponsor the event and are interested in
pricing, please email us at sponsors@ilug2008.org mentioning your intent.
Please note that we do this outside of office hours, and in our personal time.
If you choose to sponsor the event, payment in full is REQUIRED by
the 15th April 2008. ILUG Ltd is a registered company for tax reasons only
because of the fact that this event is growing and the turnover demands it.
Sponsorship fees are non-refundable.
PLEASE NOTE. If you are a sponsor, you will still need to
register as an attendee of the conference. So will all people going with your
company as sponsors - you will receive special sponsor badges, but we need to
track all people that will attend. Please ensure you will do that.
Additional information on what you need to supply us for sponsoring,
will be sent after you agree to sponsor the event.
