Session: The Security Nip/Tuck - Tightening up your environment with Domino R8

Gabriella Davis

Has your security been left to get old and flabby? In this comprehensive session we'll take you through the new security enhancements introduced in Domino and highlight the most common security loopholes you may not be looking out for. From upgrading your certifiers and ids with higher quality keys to effective use of policies and how to secure traffic using SSL and TLS - we will demonstrate with live examples how each feature is configured and discuss where it could be used. Leave this session with the best knowledge to ensure Domino stays secure against the latest threats. This session is intended for customers who may have originally installed Domino on versions 5 or earlier but have never reviewed their security. They may still be running the original keys, using physical certifiers, not utilising SSL or TLS for data transport, keeping copies of user ids for backup and may not be aware of what can now be controlled and managed with policies. These customers with aging environments are unnecessarily becoming ever more exposed to security threats simply due to their lack of knowledge. I hope to not only show them that Domino and Notes security has kept up with the growing security risks but explain how important it is to review and revisit security decisions made based on earlier versions.
